OU third baseman Garrett Buechele has been rewarded for his stellar opening weekend by being named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference's Player of the Week.  Buechele went 10-16 (.625) over the four game series with three homers, five RBIs, and four runs scored.  Buechele had multiple hit performances in all four games and was a huge part of the Sooners offense throughout the series against William & Mary.

This is the second time Buechele has won Big 12 Player of the Week and hopefully the first of many for the 2011 season.  OU will be back at L. Dale Mitchell Park starting Tuesday as they begin a two game series with Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
