2011 Heisman Finalists Released
There will be five individuals in New York City this weekend for the presentation of the 2011 Heisman Trophy. Those five players will be:
Andrew Luck - QB - Stanford Cardinal
Robert Griffin III - QB - Baylor Bears
Trent Richardson - RB - Alabama Crimson Tide
Montee Ball - RB - Wisconsin Badgers
Tyrann Mathieu - DB - Louisiana State Tigers
If I had a vote, it would be for the Baylor star. Personally, I think it's a two horse race between RGIII and Luck but mainly just because of the head start Luck got before the year even started. Richardson is an outstanding player, but about as deserving of a Heisman Trophy as his former teammate Mark Ingram. Which is to say not so much. Ball is having a statistical season for the ages, looking to break Barry Sanders once unthinkable single season touchdown record. No slight to Mathieu, but if Ndamukong Suh can't win the Heisman then you really don't stand a chance. I do think it's cool that Mathieu got the invite though considering the spectacular season he's put together.
So if you had a vote, who ya got?

RG Three
Might be because I watched him the most this season but he is all that as far as I am concerned.
"Nonsense. By all means, move." Doc Holliday, the movie Tombstone.
RGIII
My vote goes to RGIII for sure. I think he is deserving and has helped put the Baylor Bears back on the football map…………Let me rephrase that…..He has put the Baylor Bears on the map.
They won 10 games in 1980
with Samurai Mike Singletary at LB
Rumor has it that Texas is about to sign a huge corporate sponsorship deal for the Longhorn Network. They just have to decide which brand represents them best: Dyson, Eureka or Hoover.
As much as I like Trent as a Bama fan, my vote would go to RG3.
I just wonder how he will fit in at the next level.
RG III
Give it to the guy with the world class speed

Has to be RGIII
but he plays for Baylor so I don’t think he has a chance. Luck will win thereby pushing this “award” even further into irrelevance.
Not sure why
Monte Ball is not getting ANY love…..He is on the verge of breaking Sanders’ TD mark for a season, to go along with nearly 1800 yds (may surpass 2000 w/bowl game), and plays in a pretty good conference that loves to pound the rock, and focus on stopping the run. We were going crazy when AD didn’t win it, but to me Ball’s TD mark is amazing and truly sets him apart from the crowd.
He's pretty good for sure.
But I’d still have to go with the majority of people on this board. RGIII is the best player in CFB.

Better conference
In order they go: SEC, Big 12, Big 10, PAC 12, ACC, and Big East. That’s how they grade out

The Big12/10 conferences are about equal
I just gave our conference the go ahead

"Grading out"

If you’re looking just at Def, the Big 12 would probably be pretty low on that list. 9/10 Big 12 defenses are in the bottom half of the nation.
I think thats more based on how good the offenses are

I think Richardson & Honey Badger basically split the votes of that region.
Luck will get more than RG3 just because of the west coast voters & perception of him having to be absolutely the best. Personally I think Montee Ball wins. Much like Sam & some others he is on just enough ballots to win it….. maybe wont have the most 1 st place votes, but wins anyway….plus who else are all those midwest & east coast snots gonna vote for?? You know “a REAL football player. Not some track guy & not some liberal”…. just my opinion in no way is it an expert or representative of anyone outside my home…. lol
So weird..... so weird
years past we have been on the way to Orlando to spend christmas. We usually get there the night of the awards show & it just kinda kicks off the post season… :-( no trip this year, no heisman candidate for either of us, no exciting bowl game… :-( you know basically life like an aggy fan. (((just couldnt help it))))
RG3
He is the single best player in college football. Better than Luck. He will be better than Luck at the next level as well

Griffin.
He is the reason they beat TCU, and the 3 game stretch of Mizzou, Kansas and us. Plus he has all the appearances of a character individual.
seriously…..when was the last time you went to Ames? ever?
T.Richardson is the Heisman Winner!
He plays for a team with a marginal offense and carried them to the National Championship.
Yes Alabama has the best defense in college football.
But the offense was all Richarsdson and his numbers against the best teams in college football the SEC.
LSU is a great team, however, Mathieu is not the difference maker for his team as is Richardson.
On Saturday the next Heisman name to be called is T.Richardson RB of Alabama.
Congratulations Richardson!
Meh

My HypesMan vote goes to RGIII
since the real media have made this a QB only type of trophy
The one thing being a lot older has going for it, most of us older have seen more CFB than most younger people have seen web pages.
