Boycott the Insight Bowl

OK, its time for the fans to get the attention of the coaching staff & the administration. The football team brings in the money for the other sports & a portion of it goes into academics.

I suggest we the fans boycott the Bowl game & the TV broadcast. Listening on the radio is fine, they don't track the number of listeners over the radio.

I'm not saying we should get Stoops fired. I still think Stoops is the best coach for us. But I do believe the coaching staff needs to have a fire built under them. They are displaying no motivation.

But if money is the only thing that gets the schools attention then we need to deny the school the money they need.

The game is for our entertainment. Its our money that drives it. Its our money that they need.

This is our game, NOT theirs.

why?

It is not our game, it is a game that we make a choice to watch, but why boycott the Insight Bowl game. If you don’t watch you might not get to see Blake Bell run more than one play. It will be the last college game for some Sooners. It just doesn’t make sense to me. Last time I looked outside the sky was not falling.

The one thing being a lot older has going for it, most of us older have seen more CFB than most younger people have seen web pages.

I notice that you like to come on this site and express YOUR opinion

while everything you, or anyone else posts on sites like this has ZERO impact on what happens with the OU program. What fans think/want doesn’t matter to the powers that be. I won’t encourage boycotting the television broadcast but I damn sure encourage boycotting buying tickets/attending the game. IMO it’s the ONLY chance the “fan” has to show their displeasure. It is a message that probably change much, but it’s a lot better then bitching on these sites.

Unfortunately

these ideas just don’t work…and the group of people you would end up hurting the most are the kids playing the game and yourself for not watching.
And it isn’t our game…it was here before us and will be around after us…we are just some frustrated fans trying to find number 8.

BOYCOTT = NO THANKS

As frustrated as I am as a fan, boycotting a game is silly! It’s still OU football good or bad! I have family that played under Smelly and Blake and I didn’t boycott and of that crap football that was going on. KC is right, it would hurt only the kids and yourself, but do what you will…

Nothing to do with the season, but

I really wish they were not going to Tempe/Glendale. AGAIN. That just kills it for so many people. 4 of the past 6 years is not fun.

seriously…..when was the last time you went to Ames? ever?

you must be easily bored

Phoenix, Tempe, and Glendale have a lot of things to do and guess what it’s not 24 degrees.

I like a little variety

Since many people make a vacation out of this, I could see getting bored at the idea of going there again. Plus there is the loss to WVU, the loss to Boise St. and the fabulous win vs. UConn for people to revisit.

Temperature has nothing to do with it. Hell, if we’re stuck going to a lower tier bowl, I’d trade with Texas or bribe an official to get an invite the the Kraft Fight Hunger bowl. San Francisco or San Diego > greater Phoenix area.

And I like Phoenix.

Plus we'd have a shot of beating

UCLA or Illinois.

hah.

the people boycotting the ticket sales due to apathy

will be a loud message.

OU will take a financial bath in this game…and whether we like it or not, college football is a business, and big businesses don’t like losing money.
