True to his word, Garden City Community College defensive end Chaz Nelson faxed in his Letter of Intent to the Oklahoma football offices on Friday. He had created a bit of a scare on Wednesday when his paperwork didn't come in on the first day of the JUCO signing period but told everyone not to worry because the papers would be to OU on Friday.
Nelson was named as a first team JUCO All-American this season and will step on campus with the expectation of taking over a starting spot at defensive end. Nelson is listed at 6-2/235. He turned down offers from Baylor, Illinois, Iowa State Kansas State, Texas Tech and Troy to come play for the Sooners.
