On a week where transfers are being announced and other rumors are rampant we get some positive news about a player who is actually staying. Sophomore running back Brennan Clay made the list of players rumored to transfer but ended any speculation after practice on Tuesday night.
When told of the rumor, Clay responded that it was dead wrong. It was a breath of fresh air in a week in which plenty of transfers have been both rumored and announced while the coaching staff is cleaning house.
Clay came to Oklahoma from San Diego as a part of the Cali-Trio with Tony Jefferson and Kenny Stills. He rushed for 230 yards on 66 carries in 2011. He enters the Insight Bowl as only one of two tail backs left on the roster due to injury and attrition.
