OU not the only team losing players for the Insight Bowl. Iowa's starting RB suspended for bowl game
According to multiple reports, Iowa's starting running back and arguably best player on offense Marcus Coker has been suspended for the upcoming Insight Bowl. It's being described as "disciplinary reasons" and he will not travel with the team to Tempe.
Wouldn't go so far as to say this even things up by any means, but make no mistake this is a gigantic loss for the Hawkeyes. As a team, Iowa rushed for 1,970 yards. Coker accounted for 1,417 of those yards and no other player had as much as 250 yards rushing.
This is a big, big win for the OU defense and if you don't believe me just check out the stellar SB Nation's Iowa blog Black Heart Gold Pants.

Normally I perfer the other team to be healthy
That way there is no excuses on the outcome. But after seeing what we’ve lost I am OK with it.

Probably got suspended for facemasking that poor Spartan
He had it coming.
Rumor has it that Texas is about to sign a huge corporate sponsorship deal for the Longhorn Network. They just have to decide which brand represents them best: Dyson, Eureka or Hoover.
It is what it is, and it seems prevalent through out CFB post season play.
If I was coaching a team and players found themselves ineligible for post season play then I would make sure they received no rings or other swag that eligible players received. I don’t know if that is the standard practice and if so that is very good, regardless of what others do I would do it.
The one thing being a lot older has going for it, most of us older have seen more CFB than most younger people have seen web pages.
No worries there
the back-up (McCall) was already suspended for similarly nebulous reasons and will probably transfer. Iowa’s program is about as healthy as Penn State’s – you are looking at a ridiculously easy win on the 30th…
