So whats the scoop?
I know that with the disheartening loss of Ryan Broyles this weekend that there was probably not a whole lot of news coming from the recruiting front, but if Im not mistaken, this was supposed to be a big weekend for that. Is there any news to report on recruits and how they enjoyed their visits, will we be getting any commits soon? I along with the rest of sooner nation am still kinda in a fog after the injury to Mr. Broyles and was just wondering if there was some news...good or bad...about the current recruiting targets? Glad we got the win against aTm but its never felt more like a loss.

not good
It wound up being a pretty considerable disappointment. Almost all the big names that were either supposed to show or rumored to possibly be coming did not. Mario Edwards, DGB, Corey Coleman, Derrick Woods, and Brian Nance all didn’t make it. Really, the only big name that did was Gerald Bowman who is the #1 JUCO safety for 2012. He raved about it, but did not commit.
There were several current OU commits there, but much, much fewer actual targets than expected. Very disappointing for what was long expected to be our biggest recruiting weekend of the year.

Good call
I forgot about that w/ all the “bad” news. He wasn’t expected this week, but made it in. He would be a major get for us especially from a part of the country we don’t typically pull kids from.

The funny thing about New Jersey
There is some serious talent there, but a total vacuum when it comes to legitimate programs to choose from, so there is no real school or conference affiliation. PSU lost its grip decades ago. Syracuse hasn’t been relevant since the 60’s. UConn? Maryland? Rutgers? uVA, BC? eh, no….
The B-Least has no sway, the northern ACC teams just don’t have “it”, so OU has as good a chance as any SEC or B1G team with him.
seriously…..when was the last time you went to Ames? ever?

Jte…what is your predection on Ou and a bowl game? I’m thinking that if we win the osu game (and the other two) and Stanford loses we r in the ncg…but if we lose the osu game or Stanford does not lose we r headed for the fiesta bowl either way…is that about right?
I was thinking about this at lunch too....
I sure would like the BCS, but if we won & didn’t make it to CG. I would like sending osu to fiesta & us going to Nola to play Arkansas or the OTHER sec team that goes….

I would love to see that too
but I don’t see any way that it happens unless we lose before playing Ok State. If we win out then we’re the Big 12 champ and locked into the Fiesta.

And if we lose before playing OSU
We might not get a BCS bowl bid.

Yeah I was thinking maybe there's some exception
Since we technically be tied. And fiesta has had OU what 4 times lately….
Coin toss with Alabama
if we both win out and Stanford loses. Oregon and Boise might be in play too, but I think we probably get the edge over those two.

I’m just thinking that the voters will to put a rematch game in the ncg…LSU beat Oregon and Bama this yr…Boise won’t jump anyone to get there but when Ou beats the #2team and gets a boost in the computer polls when Tulsa beats Houston…(dreaming here)…we would be the likely choice to get in the game…not that I wouldn’t love to get another crack at Boise st….how about this one….lsu loses to Arkansas (forcing a 3 way tie atop the sec west) and that puts Ou and Bama in the ncg , arkansas goes to the sugar bowl and LSU goes to the cotton bowl to face Kansas st.:) how sweet would that be.
