OU offensive lineman Adam Shead injured, doubtful for Bedlam
Carey Murdock of SoonerScoop just reported on WWLS The Sports Animal out of OKC that OU freshman offensive guard Adam Shead suffered a knee injury and is very unlikely to be available Saturday night.
It's obviously disappointing news considering he was arguably playing as well as any OU lineman aside from him missing his first Bedlam game of course. Not quite as devastating when you consider that Ben Habern is back as the starter at center, moving Gabe Ikard back to left guard, thus making Shead a backup but you'd still like to have him available.
The incredibly terrible streak of injuries for this OU team continues. Sad face!

The Injury Bug
Can take a great team to its knees in no time. Just sad to see all these good players go down.

By this point I'm numb to this crap
Have never seen a team so injury prone. Did someone mention sacrificing a virgin or something?

might explain newspaper story

Can anyone remember the last time we played an entire season without a major contributor not injured? Why does it feel like we are the only team every year to lose multiple players to injury. This is just getting ridiculous now.
I think you only notice it on top teams.
If Colorado loses three or four key guys, who’s gonna make a big deal out of it.
Plus, since our guys are better than anyone else’s, it hurts more when they get injured. :-)
You got to start wondering if maybe they're being overworked.
Getting time in the weight room is great. But you have to take days off.

Read a blog about running ~350 extra plays per season last 2 years
Equivalent of 2 extra games….. Idk
But Whaley getting rolled from behind has zero to do with over training.

And Broyles popping his ACL
on a move he makes all the time…freakish stuff. Nothing to do with over-working, IMO.
Simple.... THIS SUCKS
I wish this had not happened to Adam and wish him well. It would been really nice to have Shead available to pancake a few pokies this weekend. The dude can play offense.
This injury horsesheet has got to stop sooner or later. The Sooners can fill an emergency room quick than any team in D1 almost every season. The frequency is unnerving and it always happens to starters, good ones at that!
The one thing being a lot older has going for it, most of us older have seen more CFB than most younger people have seen web pages.
