Oklahoma @ Baylor: Notable Stats
There is not much to say about this game other than that there were a ton of things that could have been.
- Baylor had punted only 21 times, by far the fewest in the nation, heading into this past Saturday and continue that trend adding only two to that number against the Sooners
- In the first quarter Oklahoma had five penalties for 64 yards
- Robert Griffin III has thrown a TD pass for 60+ yards in 8-of-10 games now
- The Dan Beebe Curse continues to claim Big XII players
- OU had a TD drive where not a single WR touched the ball
- Last season Oklahoma's Austin Box stuffed Baylor on 4th down on the 33 yard line...This season the teams found themselves in the same scenario with the same result
- RG3PO (half man half machine) very easily could have had 500+ passing yards if a TD pass had not been called back and finished being accountable for 551 yards of offense
- The 3rd String QB in Blake Bell had 4 rushing touchdowns
- Landry Jones did not throw a TD pass (at least not one that wasn't penalized) yet the offense finished with 605 total yards of offense, 15 less that Baylor
- The Bears had four scoring drives of less than 60 seconds including the game winning drive
- Baylor beat Oklahoma for the first time ever giving them a record of 1-20 against the Sooners

I'm not
I thought our defense could contain Baylor…what is Okie Light gonna do to them? Bad things, man. Bad things.
Gotta go look for a happy place real quick…
I'm with you on this...
My friends are giving me a hard time about this…but we look awful right now. I might believe we could beat them if we were playing them this week. But since we have to play Iowa State first then I believe the hunger will wear off. Not to mention we have no answer for our donkey poo secondary.
Look what happened to KSU after the tech game
Too much talent.
Colvin and TJ should be at the safety spots with 7 at the nickle backer

That's just it
These guys have no ability to channel their fire. They blow their wad right out of the gate in the next game. At this level, teams should be able to channel their attention and aggression from week to week, allowing it to slowly build all week long and then unleash it slowly and surely on an opponent. Not this team. They’ll come out like gangbusters against ISU, beat the hell out of them and then be flat as a pancake in Bedlam.
I just hope we beat ISU at this point. I hope they haven’t quit entirely. And yes, before anyone starts on this, this OU team has quit, IMO. They simply don’t have the stomach for the requirements of success. It’s too hard. They don’t have the chops.
They haven't quit
They are just kids first of all. And RG3 can play. The secondary just hasn’t played as well as they should, specifically javin Harris and gabe Lynn when he was in. Proctor has been OK. Lewis has been at 75% all year. They will win out I have 0 doubt

RGIII is very different from Weeden
As Merv so aptly described it in the radio broadcast, pass rushers are afraid to rush him because of what he can do with his feet. On a key drive, the center snaps the ball over his head 20 yds, and he gets to it so fast that he is confident no one else will be close. As a result, he can pick it up rather than fall on it, and then make a play. Might not be another qb in the country that can make that play. Certainly not OSU’s.
that was just one of the many plays great that RGIII pulled off
I know the Sooners played a crappy for the most part, but RGIII definetly had a very large part in that. Definitely a Hypesman candidate in my books.
The one thing being a lot older has going for it, most of us older have seen more CFB than most younger people have seen web pages.
if I didn't know better it would be easy to think the RGIII planned that ricochet pass for the one TD
