The first half of the OU/Tech game should have shown everybody here how absolutely inept Venables is. Yes he has a ton of intensity. Yes he occasionally dials up a good game plan. To that I say even a blind pig finds an acorn every now and then. How many times does OU have to choke up in a big game due to Venables horrific ineptitude? Granted, Venables can't be blamed for the receivers dropping passes and allowing the ball to be taken away, but that in no way excuses his weakness as a coach.

There is absolutely NO excuse for a bluechipper defense like OU giving up 341 yards IN ONE HALF to anybody, let alone a Tech team that basically has to make do with players that were scraps leftover from OU/Texas/OSU/TAMU. 

Mike Stoops is looking for a job, incidentally. I think it's time for Bob to demote Venables and bring in Mike to be defensive coordinator.
