Yes, the cheater bowl is now over. The "Cam-Newton's-Dad-Scandal-Afflicted" Auburn Tigers defeated the "Extreme-Home-Cooking-2006-Edition-Now-2010-1" Oregon Ducks by a score of 22-19. Can anyone ever remember two less-deserving teams? In case anyone EVER forgets the Duck blemish, let me remind you of this episode against OU: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSIykYoM260
Well, the NCAA studiously avoided taking any real action against the equally cheating Ohio State Buckeyes - you remember the Fab 5 who got free tattoos and mula for their memorabilia, right? A five game suspension on four players who are likely going into the NFL draft? Also this year, Reggie Bush and USC finally had to atone for their scandal - the Heisman and title were revoked.
The year of the cheater is now over. The BIG story this year is that the NCAA knew about the violations and are truly looking askance toward programs primed in order to make the BCS and the NCAA big time bucks.
Karma caught up with the Ducks. It will similarly catch up with USC, Ohio State, and Auburn. Karma seems to work that way - eventually....
