Mid-Week News Headlines - Florida St. Week
Two interesting quotes that I decided to pick out of several of the articles:
After the game, the locker room was kind of dead. We should have played a lot better. A win is a win and we're thankful for that. But after the game we realized there were a couple of chances we missed that we could have put up 52 points. Our defense was kind of frustrated if they don't blow a couple of coverages they don't get 24 points. As negative as it sounds we were still real close to having a great game.
--Ben Habern
It's good to see that the guys weren't exactly excited after their win, and that they expected a lot more.
One thing for certain, Stoops said, the entire playbook, offensively and defensively, will be open against the Seminoles instead of the muted playbook OU employed against Utah State.
"We did hold a couple things we’ve been working on," Stoops said, "which didn’t help us."
I'm sure they played a more vanilla game against Utah State. It will be interesting to see what they've been working on that's so brilliant that it hurt their performance. I've also liked hearing a lot of the coaches say this week that the Sooners players keep worrying about making a mistake and are playing hesitant. They sound like they're really encouraging the guys to fly around and turn it loose this week. That bodes well for a high-energy performance.
Headlines after the jump.

How Florida State Has Fared In Past Big Non-Con Games
In Jimbo Fisher's first season as head coach, Florida State's trip to No. 7 Oklahoma on Saturday is reminiscent of the kind of game that helped former coach Bobby Bowden establish the Seminoles early in his head coaching tenure. Let's hang half a hundred on 'em and enjoy the second half.
I feel good about this game...
Landry Jones WILL play better
The defense WILL play better
We WILL put pressure on Ponder and force him to make bad decisions.

One quick question
Anyone here how taylor was after 20 or so snaps. We need him
by AllenOU on Sep 8, 2010 10:43 AM CDT via mobile reply actions
Stoops said that Taylor was completely fine
Had no issues with soreness after the game. He should be good to go on Saturday
Pretty sure
We’re familiar, we’ve seen it for that past 11 years. But still a good read, thanks for the link!

If it's anything like our's
it means an automatic 10 yards on bubble screens and quick slants

It's Wednesday half the week to game day
and from what I’ve read and gathered We are the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked! We are the worst team since John Blake years! Schnellenburger is embarrassed to have coach one year at OU because we are so bad.
Also Ponder, is the greatest QB EVER! FSU is going to kill OU..it’s going to be over by half time! Florida St has players no human can catch. They are so fast, they should be banned by the NCAA! OU is Doomed!
Or if you read some of the smarter people….Center Ben Habren said it wasn’t that bad on film. A couple of plays away from OU blowing the game open. We were playing several on our D-line..basically rotating in the 3rd team. Coaches said the team was too scared to make a mistake, and tried too hard to be perfect. Or in other words they were flat because they were too tight. Coaches also said this week the Offense would have a full playbook..meaning last week, we didn’t.
Another point….FSU was getting 8.5. This looks like a gimmie right? FSU getting points..and they are going to light up OU and kill us by 3 TD’s or more! But…the line has only moved one point since opening..which means the big money is still taking OU.
When ever I see blind over confidence I think of the 2000 National Championship. That turned out pretty good for OU.

It all depends on who says 'we suck'
If it is Nole fans or Nole blogs… wait and see
If it is Texassian Fans aor Texassian Blogs… we all know they are blowhards
If it is ESPIN … it is to sell advertising and they don’t know crap and have their darlings
If it is SI … nuff said, everyone needs to recall how they Trashed The King and his teams in the 70’s and 80’s,screw SI
If is OU fans and OU blogs,,,, what the hell do we know, wait and see
If it is the Coaches,,,, hmmmm maybe they something we don’t
i'm of course exaggerating
but not by much.

Most of the OU sucks stuff I have been reading has been from OU fans who are disappointed with the USU performance.
For the most part FSU fans took the USU game to mean there might be a glimmer of hope to make the game competitive.
Any of the historical talk about Bowden’s teams playing OU has very little significance since both the players and the coaches are much different, at least on our side.
Actually this is right
Most of the OU sucks stuff I have been reading has been from OU fans who are disappointed with the USU performance.
I’ve been looking around the internets and it seems most Noles fans are giving OU a decent amount of respect.
