Sooner Nation Podcast Season 1: Episode 1 (Trial Run)
Every now and then I get an email asking me when we're going to do our live podcasting again. Well, here's your answer, it's in the works. To do a podcast properly you've got to have time, material and quality. JTE and I are working on all three of these and here's our first trial run. The goal is to do our first live broadcast on Sunday night September 12 to recap the Florida State game and look ahead to the next week's matchup against Air Force.
Now, keep in mind that we're still tweaking and that's why the first two episodes aren't live. We want you're opinion anyway though. We already realize that episode one has some microphone troubles (reason why there's two parts) and a power outage (both to be corrected next week) but other than that give us some thoughts. Here's a few of the topics addressed in the first episode.
Sooner Nation Podcast Season 1
- What/who are you most looking forward to seeing on the field Saturday?
- Which of the freshman (true or redshirt) are you most excited to see play?
- Bold predictions for 2010
- Injury Report
- Looking at the schedule and pointing out the "big/scary games"
- Expectations
- Kickers
- What are you most confident in about this team
- What scares the crud out of you about this team

You know I just realized
In my bashing of Lee Corso, I failed to mention that he picked Landry to win the Heisman I believe. So we’re screwed!
"We call him The Hammer." - Bob Stoops on Ronnell Lewis
I'm excited
about the potential for this podcast. I thought that both of you were better than I expected, but then I have no idea how much experience either of you have doing a podcast. I have heard others that sounded like the rookies they were, and didn’t get that sense from either of you. I didn’t think your “technical” difficulties were any worse that the ones that occur daily on the Sports Animal.
What is the intent for when you do “live” podcasts? Will there be input from listeners via e-mail, texting, phone call-ins? All in all, for your first attempt, I thought it went well. Keep it up. I think sooner fans will greatly enjoy your efforts.
Team FIRST, Effort SECOND, Talent THIRD, Selfish NEVER
Thanks for your kind comments
The hope is that once we go live everything will work and we’ll have a live chat box going during the podcast so that our listeners can participate.
