Brandon Williams' First Game Stats (and more)
Brandon finished with 269 yards and 4 touchdowns on runs of 67, 42, 68, and 48 yards. I couldn't find the amount of carries he had, but for those of you who want to skip the math, that's 225 yards in touchdown carries alone.
For the recap, click here. Also, another, very short story of note, is here. A quick summary, he spent most of the summer lifting weights in an effort to add more power to his running game. He also joins the coaches in the film rooms quite often. Lastly, he plans to graduate early so he can be in Norman in January for spring practice. So far, Brandon himself is showing that all the unfair longhorn accusations of his character are, well, unfair longhorn accusations.

Love it
Excellent post Kratos! This kid could (and I stress the word could for obvious reasons) be very special. Love the fact he is planning on graduating early!

We’ve questioned, I don’t know that we accused.
We just had a DT leave the team who has a kid or two back in Arkansas, he’d always battled home sickness and it was always a concern that he wouldn’t be able to handle being in another state from his family. If you don’t think Brandon’s family is of concern then you may be in for a surprise.

Saying things like
“Texas doesn’t need those kinds of kids” is a little cold when it comes to 17 year old. Brandon spending all the extra time to work on his running, as well as trying to graduate early, point to a kid that has putting more than sufficient focus on football and his future.

This kid has a lot on his plate no doubt
I had two kids when I was thirty and remember how tough it was. I think he will definitely be challenged to make it all work, but it sounds like he has his priorities in order and is working hard to achieve his goals. I think a ‘a kid like that’ is the kind of person you want to give an opportunity to. Hard work should be rewarded if you’re wearing Crimson and Cream or burnt orange. With Murry being a senior he might be able to contribute early next year along with, Madu, Clay, Finch, Calhoun and Johnson. Man, what a wealth of talent at RB!
By the way
This performance was only on 15 carries. That’s 17.9 per carry, in case you didn’t want to do the math.

Looks like Brandon had another good night. 259 yards on 18 carries & 3 TD’s on runs of 72, 60 & 42 yards.
A Longhorn fan that tells you they didn’t want him is delusional. The kid can ball.
Thanks for ruining my next fanpost!
A few interesting sidenotes, he is averaging 16 yards per carry through his first 2 games, and has a total of 528 yards and 7 TDs on 33 carries. Also, his shortest TD run is 42 yards.

This is getting out of hand:
20 carries 340 yards 4 rushing TD’s
Williams has 65 carries for 989 yards (15.2 per carry) and 14 TD’s (9 TD runs over 40 yards) in 4 games.
The coaches know more than I do, but what the hell are they thinking not going after this kid. You guys have a helluva back.
You can say that again
Although there are persisting rumors that other schools are going after him HARD. He’s been adamant that he’s OU all the way, but you never can tell w/ these kids plus he’s already switched once. Granted it’s high school, but he could wind up being special.

Thanks for posting
I’ve been searching for those stats since last night. Needless to say, I’m a pretty big Brandon fan.

Very reassuring words from B.Williams
Those who did still hold concern about Williams and his future at Oklahoma were hoping that this weekend’s official visit for the Air Force game might put their worries to rest. However it seems that for Williams it was nothing more than a trip to his future home.
“It didn’t (erase doubt), there was never any doubt in my mind that I was going to go to Oklahoma,” Williams said.
