BlogPoll Week Three Initial Ballot (I Lied!)
What gives? The big games in what was supposed to be a big weekend of college football just didn't pan out. Miami/Ohio State, Penn State/Alabama and Florida State/Oklahoma all turned out to be absolute dogs unless you're a fan of the three teams that won by large margins. Of the weekend's big games only Michigan/Notre Dame lived up to the hype and I didn't have either of those two schools in my top 25. Here's a small breakdown of my top 10 followed by my complete ballot.
1. Alabama - Unchallenged by Penn State
2. Ohio State - Was pushed by Miami but at the end of the day had the better athletes and clearly the better team.
3. TCU - Read this for what its worth but the Frogs could very well be the best college football team in the state of Texas.
4. Oklahoma - Alright...well...I said both on my AP Top 25 post as well as in our Sooner Nation broadcast that I would have the Longhorns ahead of the Sooners (and I truly intended to) but I just can't justify it other that trying to make a statement about being unbiased. This is where I have to say, "sorry, I lied."
5. Texas - It gets real for the Longhorns this weekend.
6. Boise State - Sorry Boise, you lost your marquee win.
7. Florida - Tough start for the Gators this weekend but they corrected and rolled after that. Not an impressive performance though.
8. Iowa - Didn't break a sweat against instate rival Iowa State.
9. Nebraska - Road trip to Washington this weekend will give us a look at how well the Huskers travel.
10. Oregon - Possibly the most explosive team in the country.

Minor issues
Miami should have dropped at least a couple spots, they looked bad against tOSU. South Carolina might need to be higher honestly, if anyone is reading this and hasn’t seen Marcus Lattimore you are missing out. I hesitate to even make this comparison, but watching him play in both games thus far he really does remind me of Adrian Peterson. He has been that impressive and they seem to have a very similar running style. Only other issue would be Michigan has got to be in there somewhere. Could be at #25, but they deserve to be ranked.
"Ronnell is a freak of nature. Anybody that big, powerful and fast shouldn't be allowed on the field. That's Ronnell. You saw in the Kansas game when he knocked that guy out, he changed the whole game."
I gave Miami a pass
For losing at the #2 team in the nation, I think SC will climb as the season moves on (agree on Lattimore) but disagree with you on Michigan. They’ve looked impressive in their first two games but beating UConn and an unranked ND squad doesn’t get them in for me.
I had Oregon a little higher
I think they are the best team in the Pac 10 and could beat 3 or 4 of the teams that we have ranked ahead of them. They did struggle early in the Tennesee game but I think the weather conditions and the hour long weather delay in the middle of the first half had something to do with that.
Where is Michigan? Did I miss them somewhere? Top 10 team at the moment. Much better than the Gators and Horns.

Remember last year this time
Michigan was 4-0 last year in September, then they completely fell apart. If they make it to the end of October then ill rank them.
