I question the sanity of anyone placing Iowa & Va Tech in the top 10. PERIOD. BSU is good, I give it to them. But their schedule is still an abomination. So when they obilterate Va Tech everyone is going to say “yeah & VaTech is a top 10 team”???? Or when VaTech loses but uglies it up, it still shows nothing…. much like the Tulsa/BSU game. The one Tulsa lost when a wide open WR slides across a soaked field & doesnt make the catch…..
So there are four to six
WRs better than Ryan Broyles? Really?

I disagree with the list, but I won’t take pre-season stuff that seriously after last year. Julio Jones had a lot of drops in 09 (for a supposed first round draft pick) and the Bama fan base was complaining about it again in the spring game. Michael Foyd is incredibly consistent but he missed a few games due to injury. I think Baldwin and AJ Green are getting love because they’re taller and project as #1 receivers at the pro level (unlike Broyles). It’s supposed to be a loaded receiver class.

On the preseason stuff being irrelevant. Just my Sooner paranoia acting up again ;)

Not irrelevant... just stupid. Were you start unfortunately can help shape how high you can rise, or whether you fall.
I hate them because of that, but for now the are very much relevant.
Giddy-up!
When Boise State gets a chance
They almost always show up to play

I think the voters shouldn’t be allowed to vote until after week 4. Usually several teams start out in the top 10 that shouldn’t….and the opposite is true also. It’s all based on last season and speculation to begin the year. Let’s wait until they’ve played some games before we rank them. Rankings are never irrelevant…..very important….just ask Auburn Tigers of 2004, who beat a 1-0 Utah team, a 1-1 Michigan team, a 3-0 Fresno St team, a 3-1 Tennessee team, and a 4-1 West Virginia team to start 5-0….but they started the season #17 in the polls and could never make the climb to the top. I’m not complaining, my Sooners got to play in the big game, but if tables were turned, I would’ve been mad!
