I guess we can't take the "rumor" tag off the Tommy Mason-Griffin status and file it under the "fact" category now. While the university has yet to come out with an official announcement, Mason-Griffin has. According to his own FaceBook status (posted around 10pm last night)TMG has officially left Oklahoma and declared for the NBA draft.

well I’ll be posting my thoughts about this and the basketball program as a whole a little later, but suffice it to say that I think TMG is in for a rude awakening

For whatever it’s worth, Mark Rodgers on the Sports Animal did say that the university released a statement confirming TMG was leaving.

just lost a dude who has some serious character (and spelling, and grammar) issues. It is going to suck in the short run because of what he can do on the court, but in the long run, OU is better off without him.

I think it’s sad how kids, and more specifically athletes, appear to be mentally handicapped when writing online. This isn’t a bash against TMG, but I’ve seen similar stuff on UT facebook walls, and professional athlete’s twitters…. the death of English. emoticon smiley face
