Ruh Roh. Tiny Gallon May Have Taken Money From An Agent

TMZ.com is alleging that Oklahoma freshman forward, Tiny Gallon may have accepted $3,000 from an individual who has been known to rep several professional athletes. The gossip rag (because in the end, that's what it is) claims to have obtained a "document" that  shows that Gallon and his mother, Sylvia Wright received a wire transfer into a joint bank account from Jeffrey Hausinger, a Merrill Lynch financial advisor.

This isn't the first time that these type or rumors have surfaced, but I had heard through the grapevine that OU had already investigated the issue before letting Tiny return to the court earlier in the season. Plus, this coming from TMZ, not exactly the authority on, well, anything. Let's all withhold any judgement and wait before we freak out, but if this turns out to be true it could end up being very bad for the Oklahoma Athletic Department.

We'll keep you updated as we hear more... Stay tuned...

True, they get a few hits

But they also have a lot of misses.

Will this really be that bad for the OU athletic department as a whole?

This seems like the guy acted on his own?

I think that the only thing that could come of it

If it is true, is that Tiny would be ineligible. I don’t think that there’s much that you could punish an athletic program for over something a kid did in high school

Probably

Just more of looks bad with the Bomar incident a few years ago. But I agree, if it happened in high school, OU should not be held accountable for it.

and if they investigated, decided to ignore it/play him, what then?

I think we all know that didn't happen.

It’s like the kid was Blake Griffin. He had a pretty awful year. If they knew something, they wouldn’t have had any issue with keeping him off the court.

I agree....

….it’s not like he accepted money from a rogue booster or “friend of the program.” Regardless, this might just confirm what I suspected for the past couple months, that Tiny Gallon is an idiot.

An open records request

showed no correspondence between the University and the NCAA about this

Showed no written correspondence

Because there wasn’t any evidence to support the need for that. However an open records request won’t show the inquiries and phone calls made to investigate the matter. Also, that request was sent after Tiny was suspended for Bedlam II, when all of these rumors started flying around. At that time there was no correspondence between OU and the NCAA. That was a month ago and I sure would bet that they’ve talked with the NCAA now.
