Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

"Won’t play Saturday. Won’t play Monday. Probably won’t play next Saturday," OU coach Jeff Capel announced before practice.

The Sooners host No. 24 Baylor Saturday, travel to No. 21 Texas Monday night, then finish their regular season against No. 22 Texas A&M March 6.

Any chance Warren could return for the Big 12 tournament beginning March 10?

"Maybe," Capel replied.

At least OU has gotten used to Warren’s absence.

Is this strictly....

….an ankle thing or do you think this might be an attitude thing?

I wonder if Capel might be making an example out of a player who has one foot out the door any way so he can get through to other players who will be here next year.

I don't know

This has been the craziest thing in a long while.

Personally

I think it’s just the ankle thing. I mean this season is clearly over, has been for awhile, and there is little reason for him to play on a hurt ankle and damage whatever draft potential he may have remaining at this point. I’m tempted to say he should gut it out for his teammates, but I’m fairly confident that if any of the other guys were in his position that they’d do the same thing. Arguably, there are potential millions at stake so I can understand why he’s doing this if that really is the reason. Just my opinion though.

Whatever the case maybe.....

This year…..this basketball team has got to be the worst team since I became an OU fan…1978 at the age of 5

Pledger (who lives in my hometown) and company going on a shopping spree. What kind of leadership does Capel (who also comes from my hometown) show by having players run around like this?

Willie Warren has shown this year that he isn’t a leader but a role player and needs players like the Griffens to run the team. I hope he does go pro.

Tiny Gallon, is he staying or going? I just hope that a sub 500 season keeps him in college for another year or two. He has alot of potiential but is definetly not ready.

Capel needs to get these guys playing, it is sad to think VCU is a better basketball program than OU.
