Willie Warren Out Indefinitely With Mono

To say that Oklahoma was out manned today in Stillwater would be making the understatement of the year thus far. Tommy Mason-Griffin tried his best to match O-State's James Anderson's 31 points with 30 of his own but it wasn't near enough because Oklahoma needed a few more scorers and a big body to bang inside.

Now we know that Oklahoma's leading scorer, Willie Warren, will be out indefinitely with a bout of Mononucleosis. Its been a long time since things were this bad for Sooner athletics. At least Warren waited until there was nothing else to play for this season before contracting a viral illness.

mono......right

he’s pregnant

Why do I not think he has mono, and this is saving face all around for him, for Capel, and for OU, as he basically quits OU and gets ready for the NBA? (though I personally don’t see an NBA quality player here)

Anybody else heard

the rumors on Gallon? What I’ve heard is that his suspension has something to do with potential NCAA issues and that he may be done for good? This could be total message board b.s. but more often than not with stuff like this where there’s smoke there’s fire.

As bad as this year has been, I’m afraid next year is going to be even worse. If Capel has such little faith in his bench right now, what’s he going to do next year when they’re forced to play significant minutes? Personally, I think this basketball program is in big trouble. The kind of effort, or lack thereof, they displayed yesterday was absolutely pathetic. To lose that badly to a team like those cowpukes goes beyond embarrassing. To give up a career high 25 points to a 5’5" kid who shouldn’t even be playing D-1 basketball is sickening.

This team will be completely starting over next year and that is a scary thought after a year removed from an elite eight appearance.

I've heard some things about Gallon and the NCAA

But I’d like to hear from some more reliable sources before posting anything.

Yeah, I don't blame you

It’s way too early at this point. Obviously I hope it’s not true and it will go away as quickly as it appeared.
