Quick update on the OU women soccer and basketball teams

Unfortunately Friday night did not treat the OU women's soccer team very kindly.  The ladies season came to an end Friday night after suffering a 0-4 defeat to Washington in the opening round of the 2010 Women's NCAA Soccer Tournament.  OU surrendered an early goal, within the first three minutes, and it only went downhill from there.  They would find themselves with a three goal deficit at half time and UW would add a final nail to the Sooner coffin late in the 2nd half to seal the victory.  Despite the loss, this was an excellent season for Coach Nelson and the soccer team and they have plenty to be proud of in closing out their season strong and an NCAA appearance.  So congratulations on a fantastic season to everyone involved with OU Soccer!  OU loses some very important seniors, but also returns eight starters and 19 letterwinners who will look to continue the success of the OU soccer program.  So this will definitely be a team to watch out for in 2011.

The OU women's basketball team opens their season this afternoon, on the road, against UW-Milwaukee.  The game tips around 1pm (central) and I'm fairly certain the game will be available online here (fingers crossed).  So hopefully we'll be able to tune in this afternoon and watch our ladies get the season off to a good start!
