Idaho State Will Give Us No Sign Of Improvement Or Lack Of

                                  Idahostate_medium
Oklahoma could be hosting the worst team in all of college football on Saturday. Against Arizona State this past weekend the Bengals gained 37 total yards, rushed for -5 yards on 27 attempts, lost a fumble and had quarterbacks throw a combined 4 interceptions. In their 50-3 loss they also saw their defense surrender 407 yards. Arizona State gained 208 yards through the air and 199 on the ground.

I goes without saying that Oklahoma has a lot of work to do, particularly on the offensive side of the ball, but unfortunately we won't be able to notice if progress has been made because the Bengals are not anywhere near top notch competition. Oklahoma bought a win with this game and it will be by multiple touchdowns. Starters won't see action past the third quarter, if they make it that far, and after the BYU game I'm afraid that the success we'll see Saturday night will be nothing more than a false sense of security at this point. We'll have to wait until Tulsa comes to town the next week to measure progress.

The good thing this game will bring is

Two weeks worth of practice with the first team and a chance to go against a defense that might actually hit him.

Time to get back to the basics!

This coaching staff and this team need a “come to Jesus” meeting. Something isn’t clicking, and I’m beginning to wonder if Bob is overconfident and/or lost his drive/ambition. He did turn the program around in the first season at OU in 99 with more wins than losses, and then in 2000 with a National Championship and 5 consecutive years of beating Texas.

If you say that “the Bengals are not anywhere near top notch competiton” then you might be jinxing us! Let’s just say that I view this next game as a good time to practice team cohesion and put Landry Jones behind the snap.

Do't take anything for granted.

Idaho State may just have their own CTJ meeting, drive down to Norman Ok nad beat our Sooners like a drum. With this team (OU) and its coaching staff anything bad can happen. Idaho State can count on one for sure. if by chance the Sooners get the ball on offense inside the 5 yard line you can take it to the bank they won’t score a touchdown. Ha ha. I have lost every total ounce of confidence in the coaching and this years players.

I think Stoops will leave the starters in

Until they show him that they can play like they’re supposed to

While this game won't really show anything

I do fully expect it break our 2 game losing streak, and that’s important.

As for those that are doubting out coaching staff, I am too. They won me over last year with that run against, Tech, and OSU and the Big 12 champ game. However, I’ve for awhile have seen the OU team come out “flat”. to me there isn’t always the right “edge”. Like the players and coach, just assume we will win games, because we have an O and U on our helmet. At times this team lacks intensity

Oh…and I HATE the offense, coming to the line….then standing there looking over to the sideline. Totally breaks the rhythm of the team. This is all coaching.

And for those thinking Tulsa will be a cake walk….they have a high powered offense. After seeing the OU offense on Saturday, Tulsa, could easily out score us…which is key to winning any football game (you know…more points at the end of the game)
