BYU Quarterback Shreds His Defense In Scrimmage

Stay connected for news and updates

Max Hall is pretty good. But how bad is the defense that allowed him to be virtually perfect? Image via deadspin.com.

Apparently BYU's quarterback Max Hall had a bit of success in the Cougars second scrimmage. I'll leave it up to the Salt Lake Tribune to give you the nitty-gritty details:

Max Hall was simply brilliant -- especially on third down -- at LaVell Edwards Stadium in their second scrimmage of fall camp. Getting two series of work, Hall engineered two long touchdown drives, finishing the day 13-for-14 for 165 yards and two touchdowns.

He was 5-for-5 on third down, most of them third-and-long situations.

The question is, how leaky of a defense do you need in order to allow a quarterback to be almost perfect? And allow him to be perfect on third-and-long situations?

Hopefully pretty leaky. That would make things easier for the Sooners on September 5th.
