Max Hall is pretty good. But how bad is the defense that allowed him to be virtually perfect? Image via deadspin.com.
Apparently BYU's quarterback Max Hall had a bit of success in the Cougars second scrimmage. I'll leave it up to the Salt Lake Tribune to give you the nitty-gritty details:
Max Hall was simply brilliant -- especially on third down -- at LaVell Edwards Stadium in their second scrimmage of fall camp. Getting two series of work, Hall engineered two long touchdown drives, finishing the day 13-for-14 for 165 yards and two touchdowns. He was 5-for-5 on third down, most of them third-and-long situations. The question is, how leaky of a defense do you need in order to allow a quarterback to be almost perfect? And allow him to be perfect on third-and-long situations? Hopefully pretty leaky. That would make things easier for the Sooners on September 5th.
