OU Prospect Profile: Jarrett Lake

Oklahoma picked up the 16^th commitment for the 2010 recruiting class this week in Jenks, Oklahoma running back/receiver Jarrett Lake. Lake is 6-2/205 and was being recruited as an athlete.

While Lake has been a star on offense for the Jenks Trojans the fact that Brent Venables and Jackie Shipp were the lead recruiters on him give credence to the thought that he’ll play linebacker at OU. Oklahoma’s 2010 recruiting class is top heavy on the offensive side of the ball but the defensive players are starting to stack up. Led by 4-star recruits Eddrick Loften (DB) and Daniel Noble (DT) the Sooners aren’t looking too shabby on the defensive side of the ball either.

In addition to Oklahoma, Lake also received scholarship offers from Arkansas, Tulsa and Wyoming. He’s also very good friends with 2009 Sooner commit and fellow Jenks Trojan Gabe Lynn.

nice clip

Looks like he’d be fine as a WR or a safety. The way he moves and goes after the ball indicates to me anyway he’d be tough as a safety, especially given his size.

I Don't Think They Need More WRs

They do have a commitment from Sheldon McClain for the 2010 class and signed Cameron Kenny and Jaz Reynolds `09 class. The only senior WRs they have in `09 are Adron Tennell and Carter Whitson so they are pretty young and stacked at the WR position with Owens, Broyles, Madu, Kenny, Caleb and Miller all being underclassmen.
