breakdown of rrs
Quarterbacks-Both teams have heismans finalists and a winner
Running back- WE had two 1,000 yard backs while there leading rusher was mccoy
o-line There line is more experienced but didn't look like they improved in spring.
Wide recievers- They have a top 5 corps but ours will be fine cause we return gresham and broyles.
Defensive line- We return entire line from last year. While they lost miller and orakpo.
Linebackers- Even because both have experienced and talented players
defensive backs- Ours improved greatly while theirs will stink again.
Coaching- 1 big12 champ vs 6

Credibility
was lost after the defensive back comment. Obviously you haven’t done your homework. The coaching part is true. However, I think it’s funny that OU fans always refer to that given the routine flops OU have shown in bowl games. Conversely, Texas has done very well in their bowl games.
Regardless of everything it should be a great game. I think both fans realize that talent, injuries, and overall ranking really doesn’t matter a whole lot when the whistle blows. This will be the last time McCoy and Bradford will battle it out, so I’m sure they won’t disappoint.

agree 100%
Big Advantage OU: running game, defensive line, linebackers
Mild Advantage OU: d backs, coaching (gotta give Mack some credit – he has a national championship also. edge goes to BGBob though cause he doesn’t even have to beat Texas to win the Big 12).
Even OU-Texas: Receiving Corps (OU returns a #1 WR and an AA TE – all we need is a decent #2 and a slot. when you consider Madu will be in the slot… i think this could be one of our strengths). texas will be good as well.
Even – QB’s – I’ll give the edge to Bradford due to no sophomore slump, being a good 5 inches taller and of course, the Heisman. but colt is good enough to carry a team so it’s too close to say there’s a definite advantage.
Advantage Texas: o line.
Add all that up – i think you see that OU has more advantages in this matchup.

Linebacking is even
from a unit by unit analysis.
Texas returns Roddrick Muckelroy, Sergio Kindle, and Jared Norton, who are three of UT’s top five tacklers.
While OU returns Travis Lewis and the underrated Keenan Clayton, and there is depth with Balogun, Reynolds has had three ACL injuries. I mean that’s every year he’s had significant playing time.
As long as Mack can keep Kindle from crashing into buildings, this is even, and that depends on the fragility of Reynolds’ knees.
Also it’s kind of funny how nobody wants to mention special teams as a category. I’ve removed the specifics from memory, but it seems to me that it had a big impact in the game…

Kindle is moving to DE
Sergio Kindle will be a DE this season and should only play linbacker when they go to three lineman.
DOnt forget about the three stud linebackers OU brought in this class, It should be one of the best linebacker classes ever in the big 12. Trust me they will all be number two on the depth chart so Bolaquin gets pushed out of the mix at Middle linebacker, by Wort and Lewis is game ready nest season though they will probably try and redshirt him but if there is an injury to either of the outside linebackers in or before a big game expect to see him fill the shoes.
All things considered, with Kindle moving we probably are even or a little better but their linebackers will be playing behind a green d line while ours will be playing behind one of the best and the deepest lines in college football but they do have Muschamp and defensively, he is a genuis so i would expect improvement from them this year over last.

I’d give the slight edge to OU on LB, if y’all can keep ‘em healthy then you’ll get a good edge. kindle will be at both DE and LB. muckleroy with 112 tackles and norton with 54 tackles each last year are no slouches, muschamp’ll have them ready.

I guess I never actually gave my matchup breakdowns...
QB – Even – Bradford looks like the typical polished QB, but Colt knows how to get it done and win. And completing 80 or so percent of your passes helps out as well.
RB – OU – This one is probably the easiest one to decide on. Though, I do expect a much better backfield to assist Colt this year.
O-Line – Texas – Gotta go with the experience
Wide Receivers – Slightly Texas – This one can probably be argued either way though. But with Shipley back for Texas, and Malcolm Williams showing previews of greatness last year, I’ll give the slight biased edge to Texas.
D-Line – OU – As with Texas o-line, gotta go with the experience. Though Lamarr Houston and Sam Acho should fill in nicely.
Linebackers – Even – Both teams seem to be pretty experienced, so I guess whoever can stay healthy and not get suspended will gain the advantage.
Defensive Backs – I really don’t know anything about OU’s d-back, but Texas will be greatly improved this year. What was a weakness last year, may turn to be a great strength this year.
Coaches – Seriously? They’ve played each other enough times, they’ve both have had great success, I think they both know how to coach their teams.
