L. Dale Mitchell Park will be one of the 16 host sites for a 2009 NCAA baseball regional. It’s the second time since 2006 that OU has hosted a regional. The teams that will be joining Oklahoma in the regional will be announced at 11:30 this morning on ESPN.

“There was never a doubt in my mind, as a head coach, that our administration would put forth a great effort to help us secure a regional bid. After 18 years, I fully understand how important that support is.  I know through experience, that you have to earn it on the field and have the support behind you to achieve a goal like this.  Together, we look forward to hosting a great regional and continuing to play well on our road to Omaha.” – Sunny Galloway

The Sooners were 24-4 at L. Dale Mitchell Park this season. The last time OU hosted a Regional was in 2006 in which the Sooners won to advance on to a Super Regional. Here’s to hoping that history repeats itself.
