Texas used a 5 run second inning as a launching pad to propel themselves past Oklahoma in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. Brandon Loy hit a double that scored two runs for the Longhorns and then went on to score himself along with two other Texas batters in the bottom of the second and with 5 runs on the board Texas had all the run support they would need.
The Longhorns held Oklahoma scoreless through the first three innings before Aaron Baker went yard in the fourth scoring two. Texas added another run in the sixth and then another in the eighth, while the Sooners only added one more run in the seventh on Cameron Seitzer’s RBI double to get to the final score of 7-3.
First pitch of game two should be around 5:30.
