Due to inclement weather Oklahoma's baseball series against Texas Tech is going to feature a doubleheader on Saturday instead of the typical Friday/Saturday/Sunday format. In the first game of the series on Friday night the Sooners go 8 solid innings from starter Andrew Doyle along with another strong offensive performance for their a 6-0 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. It was Oklahoma's second consecutive shutout.
Doyle faced 33 batters without letting any of them cross the plate. He was nearly perfect in eight innings of work allowing only six hits and striking out four Red Raider batters. From the offensive side of the plate, Garrett Buechele went 4-for-4 driving in two runs and J.T. Wise went yard and crossed the plate twice. Matt Harughty and Aaron Baker each doubled as well in helping lead the Sooners to a total of 13 hits.
