Who hoo I actually get this game! One of the 5 games I will see unless I buy the full court!

This is the way I expected OU to play this season
Solid defense and good shot selections

not trying to be
debbie downer because I’m as happy as anyone to see this team up by 20+ against anyone. A couple things I feel like I’ve noticed and I wanted to see if you guys agree. One, is it just me or does this team seem to play with very little emotion? Most times I have to watch games on mute because the announcers are so stupid I can’t stand it. However, I have to give these guys credit for calling the Sooners out for this. Did anyone else hear the color guy’s comments about going to our practice the day before? For most of this game OU has been dominating and it looks like most of the guys don’t even want to be out there or something?
They’re not smiling or jumping around or looking jacked up. Warren will do it at times, but very rarely and even then the rest of the guys don’t really get into it. It almost looks like to me that they don’t really like each other or at least don’t like playing together. Maybe I’m way off and it’s just the demeanor of some of these kids, like laid back or something.
Okay, moving on. Two, it seems like Gallon walks up the court on almost every possession. I know he lost a lot of weight once he got on campus, but he doesn’t look like he’s in very good “game shape” to me.
Three, and this is a big one for me because I’ve been telling friends about it since last year. Why in god’s name doesn’t Willie dunk more? I know he can get up and put it down (see Iowa St. game last year), but it seems like every chance he has a chance to do it he lays it in instead of throwing it down. If you look at last year, anytime Blake was close to the basket he was taking it to the rim with authority. Willie is obviously a different kind of player than Blake, but that doesn’t mean he can’t throw it down like Blake did when he has the chance. If for no other reason, the crowd is going to react infinitely different to a monster dunk as opposed to a layup. I mean he had a clean breakaway attempt in the second half not too long ago and what did he do, a simple boring layup and you could tell the crowd didn’t even know how to react.
I feel guilty posting this as our Sooners are blowing out AZ, but I’m curious if you guys agree with any of my takes. Couldn’t be happier with the win, but thinking more long term I guess. I think this team has massive potential and it’s very likely Warren’s last year so I’d hate to see it go to waste over things that appear to be easily correctible. Similar to the defensive effort, or lack thereof, they had displayed early in the season. That is obviously something they’ve worked on to improve and is on full display tonight as they have locked down AZ for most of the night.
Congrats on the win fellas! This post is not meant to take anything away from it.

I would agree that there are still concerns but if you watched this team play in Alaska
They are much improved

no doubt
CC, no doubt. I’m not trying to take anything away from the improvements that have been made, just concerned that there’s still a ways to go.
