Georgia is interested in Capel
Sources close to the situation say Evans is willing to make Felton's successor the first $1 million basketball coach in Georgia history.
The Bulldogs are setting their sights high: Oklahoma's Jeff Capel, who might command twice as much in salary as Felton, is believed to be at the top of their wish list of potential replacements.

ACC schools have a shot and you know he will jump at Duke if that is ever offered but I think for now he would leave OU for a equal or lesser conference

I think that just about every coach in America would jump at Duke

I wouldn't be too worried about Georgia,
unless they would triple his salary.

With the year he is having
OU is going to give him a big raise if he gets to the final four or the NC and he is going to get all those stoops like performance bonuses in his new contract.
OU would match any offer he got from outside, OU loved to bring up Stoops as the highest paid coach and sitll trumpets he is one of the top ones before bonuses. So, I think they would love to be able to say they have the highest paid BBall coach if they had to pay him that much to keep him.

Regardless...
if we make the Final Four or not, Castiglione should back the Armored Car up to Coach Capel’s door step and tell him he can have whatever he wants. I, personally, don’t like the notion that we are strictly a football school and paying Capel would be step in the right direction towards telling the world that OU is not a stepping stone job (except for Duke, Kentucky or UNC). I think in 20 years, people are going to talk about Capel like they talk about Roy Williams, Coach K or Rick Pitino.
Of course, that doesn’t solve the problem of having a half empty LNC for non-conference home games. But let’s solve one issue at a time.
