Denver Contacts Stoops for Coaching Vacancy
ENGLEWOOD — Broncos owner Pat Bowlen said the process of finding a new coach would begin quickly with the arrival of the new year Thursday.
He meant what he said.
The Broncos moved quickly on New Year's Day, locking up interviews with three NFL assistants as well as making a preliminary move to contact University of Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops.

Stoops should talk with Spurrier
I doubt that Stoops leaves for a pro gig. More headaches I think – unless maybe we win on the 8th – then he may think that he has done what he wants / needs to do in ten years and heads off, but I think another NC buys him two more decades and compelte deity status in Oklahoma.
I did not know that the Broncos owner was an OU alum – interesting. The RMN posters were not at all happy about Stoops being considered.
