Sooners Roll Washington 55-14

Ouwash_medium

Sam Bradford tossed 5 touchdown passes and also scored on a one yard plunge to account for 6 total touchdowns. Needless to say that the road woes Oklahoma experienced last year appear to be gone, for now. Bradford was nearly flawless with just three incomplete passes on the night giving him an 85.7% completion rate.

Ryan Broyles was electrifying again with 85 yards and 2 touchdowns on three receptions. Then there is Jermaine Gresham who talks a big game and plays an even bigger one. The OU tight end finished with 99 yards and 2 touchdowns on three receptions.

The Oklahoma defense held the Huskies to just 14 points, sacked Washington quarterbacks four times and forced three fumbles. It was the worst home loss for the Huskies since 1929.

Defensive tackle DeMarcus Granger and linebacker Ryan Reynolds both suffered injuries in the game. Nothing has been released yet about the injuries but Granger was on crutches wearing a protective boot and Reynolds was on the sideline getting his knee examined. OU is facing a bye-week now before playing TCU on the 27th so hopefully that will be enough time to heal.

Final thoughts and position grades coming later on.

What a complete game last night

I don’t want to get to excited. Although I have respect for TCU they don’t scare me. Not to mention they look like they are getting better each week on both sides of the ball. This team should be playing for a title in the Orange Bowl in January. The Orange Bowl has been very good to the Sooners when it comes to winning the NC outside of the 1985 game with Washington.
