Wilson or Venables is likely gone...maybe both. What does Stoops do when it happens?
So if Venables goes...Bobby Jack Wright? That might seem obvious, but despite many years of coaching in HS and college (including at Texas in the 80s) as well as his current spot as asst. defensive coordinator, Bobby Jack has never been a coordinator on his own. (Well, Recruiting Coordinator, but you know what I mean.) So does Stoops move promote Shipp or Chris Wilson maybe? Or does he just hire from the outside? I'm sure there's a great up-and-coming guy somewhere who Stoops knows about, and who would love to show what he could do at OU.
Wilson might actually be the easier hole to fill. You've got Jay Norvell, who's been asst. offensive coordinator. You've also got Cale Gundy, who's probably close to ready for that kind of work. And of course, there's Heupel and James Patton. Much like our offense, our offensive coaching depth is pretty good.
Any thoughts?

I think that he would hire from outside for the D-Coordinator
And promote Norvell on the offensive side. Both Auburn and Mississippi State are going to make a push for Wilson.
