Big Game Bob

Just thought I would pass this on. Dennis Dodd has an article up on Bob Stoops very good read.

Big Game Bob has been big time for Oklahoma, and more. http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/11211555

Very good read and just how important this game is for his legacy and the Sooners. It is hard to believe this will be Stoops 4th NC game since he came to Oklahoma. There isn't another college or fans that wouldn't want that at their school in America. We are very lucky to have Big Game Bob on our sideline. Here is to another 10 years.

BOOMER SOONER!!

I still want a t-shirt that says

“I went to OU during the Gibbs years and all I got was a Gator Bowl Championship”

It is always amazing to me how short people’s memories are. People not giving him credit because they were Blake’s recruits. I always wonder why it is that if they were such great players they went undefeated in his second season and in his very first season he was able to generate a winning record even with being a first year head coach and new systems after going sub-500 the previous two years. Fans not remembering that he is nearly as successful as Switzer in just about every category in a much more competitive era (including a pretty close mark against Texas – 63% to 60%), and that, as you mentioned, there are only about 4 schools in the entire nation where they would not immediately jump at the chance to have Stoops.

I always like this view over at SoonerStats.com to really understand how solid the program has been since Stoops took over:

OU Football Coaches – Career Records

The bowl losses drive me nuts, but again, that is partly because we have gotten spoiled with him.
