Mack calls Stoops out for lack of sportsmanship - "I was raised on sportsmanship in a coaching family," Brown said. "That's why I'd like to look at the computers and see when does that matter ... I've been a guy that I thought when enough points was enough you stopped."
"You don't want to embarrass coaches who are doing it right and trying to build a program and hurt their chances. You don't want to demean kids and have a possibility of getting them hurt and at the same time want to be fair to your team. But none of that is important right now. It will all be stuff (to discuss) in the spring."

Apparently,
when young Mack was growing up his parents would call in during their opponents’ games and complain about rules they agreed upon.
How so? Let's review...
Take a look at the box score. 28-3 entering the 4th quarter. UT had already driven to the A&M 1 yard-line. Scored on the 2nd play. Then, A&M fumbled & UT recovered at A&M’s 32-yard line. UT scores on two plays. Out come the starters at the 12:00 minute mark. The 2nd team then manages to score one more TD running the ball every play but one. How is any of this possibly running up the score?
So Texas scores 21 points in the 4th quarter against the worst team in the south
and Oklahoma puts up 21 points in the 4th quarter against a nationally ranked Big 12 North champion and it is only Oklahoma who is guilty of running up the score.
Do you guys really believe the garbage that spews from your mouths or is it just blind hatred that causes Texas fans to talk in circles.
There is a difference
between allowing your second team to score in the fourth quarter and allowing your first team to throw long bombs with 3 minutes left in the game…
I’d also really appreciate it if fans in this blog or BON refrain from ad hominem(attacking the person rather than the arguments). In your reply, you did both. It would be nice to keep it to just the facts. Its something people in this blog as well as BON need to learn..
Unbelievable!
You see, this is the problem and the reason I call it garbage. Sorry that offended you but it is what it is.
Oklahoma and Texas both scored three touchdowns in the 4th quarter of those game on running plays with backup running backs but you say OU was running up the score and not Texas. Oklahoma’s 3rd team running back Mossis Madu scored the final touchdown on a 38 yard run. I guess they should have taken someone out of the stands to run the ball instead!
You aren’t interested in facts you’re interested in trying to twist the story to make OU look bad. I really don’t care what Texas did to A&M but just don’t come and tell me it isn’t running the score up when they did practically the same thing OU did and you are accusing OU.
Why haven’t you brought up these facts?
Texas has scored more 4th quarter points than OU has this year (115 to 93) and that includes the Sooners playing one extra game.
If you just go by the regular 12 game season the stat is (115 to 72). It looks to me like Texas is the one who had the problem taking their foot off the gas to me.
When you look at the time that Sam Bradford set on the bench this year it adds up to almost two and a half games.
Of course you don’t want to talk about those facts! You want to pick out the single moment in the season when Oklahoma was chasing history and make a big deal out of that. Let’s look at the big picture and see how the story changes shall we?
I'll agree with you there...
If OU is accused for running up the score, then the only evidence I can give is the Big 12 championship game, and I will still consider that running up the score, because Bob Stoops himself acknowledged it….Looking at the big picture(the entire season), I will agree, like the poster who posted on BON with 4th quarter stats from all the regular season games, that OU does not run up the score.
Please notice
not once did I mention anything about Oklahoma running up the score. I was simply replying to your assessment of the UT/A&M game. I was simply looking at that game, not the entire season.

When he was growing up
they also didn’t have whiney coaches who had to change their adult diapers at half-time.
Some people are born on third base and go through life thinking they hit a triple.
Barry Switzer
I'm sorry
I may be retarded, but I don’t see Mack calling out Bob in that article…..all he talks about is the general trend in CFB to run up the score on teams….that is a sportsmanship issue and I think that is whining at all…if the system is designed as such that running up the score helps you, then it should be changed..
Possibly not
I guess I was reading Mack’s comments in conjunction with Griffin’s comments at the end of the article as calling Stoops out. The whole article is talking about how Mack is re-thinking his approach to the game and seems to be a passive-aggressive way of pointing the finger at Stoops. Maybe I am just reading into it, but that seems to be the between-the-lines point of the article.
.0128 > 45-35
Keep on running
If I recall, Barry Switzer faced the same criticism a time or two as did a particular OU bball coach named Billy Tubbs. Now Stoops? Please. It’s not our fault other teams suck.
