NIT Championship Game Thread – OU vs. Purdue

Location: Madison Square Garden – New York City

TV: ESPN 2

Radio: KOKC AM 1520 in Oklahoma City, KTBZ AM 1430 in Tulsa

I’m pretty nervous about this game. So far the Big 12 hasn’t stacked up well against Top 10 opponents. Texas lost to Notre Game and OSU went down to Gonzaga just last night. Now its Oklahoma’s turn to take on a Top 10 opponent in Purdue with the NIT championship on the line. Could be fun because no one has yet to provide an answer for Blake Griffin.

I’d like to see better perimeter play from the Sooners on both offense and defense because that has been a bit of a struggle when they face a zone. They also have a tendency of getting sucked in on defense and when teams move the ball well they find open shots from the perimeter. I’m also curious to see if Cade Davis gets the start today.

Off the Tracks Purdue persepctive...

1st TV timeout. Oklahoma is too quick for us right now. We’re not securing the ball on what should be easy rebounds. Our own shots need to start falling. Blake Griffin is everything as advertised.

This is a great game

I am really surprised that we’re getting what we are getting from Lewis Jackson and Nemanja Calasan. I know many Purdue fans are using this as a litmus test for Due Tuesday night.

They have to learn from these early games on several levels.

Free throws, taking care of the ball, against Davidson the could have put them away early and then played too loose and lazy.

It’s a long season but I like where we stand at this point.
