Rumor Mill: Clemson A.D. Spotted In Norman Today
Former Oklahoma State athletic director and current Clemson A.D. Terry Don Phillips landed at Wiley Post Airport this afternoon and then took a ride south to Norman. As to which Sooner assistant he was there to talk with there really isn’t any way to know. One would think that it is Kevin Wilson getting the interview but Phillips has said, on more than one occasion, that he prefers a defensive guy for the next Tigers head coach so we can’t rule out Brent Venables.
Thoughts?

Rivals site - SoonerScoop - says it is Venables
I would be surprised if they hired him, but who knows. In some ways, I wonder if it would give us a chance to get some new fire in there on the defensive side of the ball.
How many assistants has Stoops had that have gone on to head coaching jobs?
Mangino – KU
Long – SDSU
Stoops – Arizona
Sumlin – Houston
Leach – TTech

Don't Forget Pelini At Nebraska
He was on Stoops’ staff for one season.

I don't want to see V go.
this stuff does not bode we for our team at this time of the season. We have 3 to 4 big important games and need the continuity along with our DC’s head in the right place. I don’t like this crap of interrupting a team at this time of the season.
If Coach V and Clemson make a deal I wish them both the best knowing that Clemson gets a good man for the job and Coach V is going to a good program.
