Nebraska at Oklahoma Football Game Thread

Location: Norman   Kickoff Time:

Television: ESPN

Total Average Offense Yards (Rank)

Nebraska 542.13 (4 446.13 (15th), Oklahomath)

Average Points Scored (Rank)

Nebraska 48.25 (2nd) 33.13 (29th), Oklahoma

Average Yards Allowed (Rank)

 Nebraska 358.75 (66th), Oklahoma 345 (54th)

Average Points Allowed (Rank)

 Nebraska 24.25 (60th), Oklahoma 22.50 (50th)

It doesn’t matter if it is ugly or pretty, Oklahoma needs to win today to stay alive in the championship races. Nebraska averages almost 300 yards through the air and nearly 150 yards on the ground so the Sooner defense will be tested again. The key to stopping Nebraska’s offense will be defending the middle where Austin Box will be playing his second game at the middle linebacker position.

Offensively don’t be surprised if the Sooners score under their average of 48 points. Nebraska likes to control the clock with their offense which results in lower scoring games. Remember they took Texas Tech to overtime in Lubbock and held the Red Raiders to their second lowest point total of the season. Remember, a win is a win!

Official Machine Prediction: 38-27 OU

BOOMER SOONER!!!

Good Luck

to you guys.

But not really. I’d love for us to pull an upset here, and I guess we’ll see if it happens. My stomach is turning over.

I just hope it’s a damned good game..

Being in the dark is sometimes fun

So visiting family – they are without cable and I was in the middle of setting up a new internet connection when the game started. I get it working and immediately check the scores and it was already 35-0. Read through the play-by-play to catch up adn see the secondary gave up another big play – a 67-yard pass – there is no way we survive Tech and State if we keep doing that.

I am not watching the game on TV, so forgive....

if this is not true – but from watching the GameCenter thing on Sportsline, it looks like Bradford is still in in the 4th Q when we are up 62-21. Why are we not giving Hazle some reps?

Nevermind - his first pass just showed up on the stat sheet

Just thought maybe Stoops had lost his mind for a minute. Pretty solid line for Bradford – funny how spoiled you get when you find yourself thinking that he had an off-day when he throws for just over 300 yards yet you now expect 350+

Another question

From the stat sheet, it looks like the longest KO return so far has been 29 yards. Does it seem like the kick coverage has been better this game versus the past month?

Also, how is Nebraska’s return team generally speaking? Is this an improvement or is this something that we should expect given the level of their return team? Sorry too lazy to go look up some stats – it has been a long day.

Texas has lost to Tech

How far do they fall and how high do the Sooners move up?

A bunch of midgets with no arms could pitch better than us. -iorange555

Just made it in from the game

The defense wasn’t amazing but was solid. The offense was mind blowing and the special teams was improved. It isn’t often you see a 35 point 1st quarter.
