BAD TASTE IN MOUTH
I DO NOT KNOW HOW THE NCAA CAN GET AWAY WITH CALLING SUCH A GAME....2 pass interference calls on lewis when he was clearly trying to catch him...a 4th down conversion by OU's punter, knall...the first touchdown by texas and the inevitable 3 points that texas got off us which should have been called a fumble by OU that went out of bounds and not an incomplete catch, when they even had INSTANT REPLAY.....it is almost like the game was bought...these SORRY refs are ruining people's view on football...seems sooo political anymore, just like anything else

The refs weren't that great
But you seem to be suggesting that the refs gave us the game, which is patently untrue. Both sides had plenty to complain about.
I’m trying to make out what plays you’re referring to, which is not easy, so forgive me if I’m wrong:
“2 pass interference calls on lewis when he was clearly trying to catch him”
How does the fact he was “clearly trying to catch him” (“him” I’m assuming meaning the receiver) have to do with a pass interference call? They called the contact. End of story.
“a 4th down conversion by OU’s punter, knall”
If you mean the fourth down conversion on which the punter faked his own injury, then I agree that was a horrendous call. If you think the punter got the first down on the fake punt, then I will vehemently disagree. He was short, and arguably got a nice spot.
“the first touchdown by texas”
What exactly was wrong with Jordan Shipley’s return? Perhaps you mean our first TD drive… but OU’s offsides penalties were fairly obvious.
“the inevitable 3 points that texas got off us which should have been called a fumble by OU that went out of bounds and not an incomplete catch”
I’m searching hard in my memory banks for this and I’m not totally clear, but I’m guessing you mean that there was a play in which an OU player seemed to have caught the ball and lost it when he hit the ground. That’s an incomplete ball, by rule. The ground can’t cause a fumble, but it can cause an incompletion.
I’m surprised you didn’t bring up the roughing the passer penalties. Then again, Brian Orakpo got held about 200 times that game.
Oklahoma played a fine game but lost. The refs didn’t lose it for anyone.

Oklahoma Can't Blame This Loss On The Refs!

I agree...
the refs did not decide the game, but they definitely impacted it. They made some bad calls for both sides.
The refs were not responsible for Jordan Shipley running free through the middle of the field the entire second half and they were not responsible for our lack of a running game.
However, the call I had the biggest beef about was the Lamont Robinson interception in the end zone. I thought he had control of the ball and it squirted free when he rolled over. If we get that call, we have the ball at our own 20 with a one point lead late in the third quarter. We’ll never know what could’ve happened after that.

The rule is on that
That if the receiver or defender that is making a catch/interception is falling to the ground, they must maintain possession of the ball as they land and the ball popped out.
The only reason I know that is because ESPN played that highlight several times and said the rule every time. Just frustrating.

Even Bob Stoops
Said that it wasn’t an interception.

The Refs Were Awful Both Ways
Yeah McCoy pulled out his best World Cup imitation but so did Knall.
Stoops and Venables were screaming at Lewis after the second late hit, in which he was trying to keep him from falling, to “Let Him Go! Don’t Touch Him! Get Away From Him!”
The Interception that wasn’t really wasn’t. It was called correctly but I can understand why you, and all OU fans, at least wanted them to check the replay booth. Then again, our first TD, Manny was down before he got the ball over the line.
So I will say it again… The Refs Were Awful Both Ways!
The better team won the game on Saturday. If OU and Texas played 100 times, I think it would be a 50-50 split.

You know
even with the loss it isn’t all bad. We are still number 4. Plus if we win out and Texas drops a game, we could still play in that National Title Game and completely miss having to play Missouri in the Big 12 Title Game.
Sort of a silver lining in the loss this past weekend.

the calls went both ways.
Poor job done and both sides admit it was not up to par. The refs did not change the outcome.

We got beat in a "Game"
I have been going to football games for over 50 years and I have to admit this would make my top ten regular season games.Worth every dime I spent in Dallas.
Bottom line we lost fair and square.
No what if’s for me.
