How Would You Answer These Questions About OU Football?

I was recently ask five questions about the Oklahoma Football question in an interview with Stiles Points. They are great questions and certainly worthy of discussion.

So head on over to Stiles Points and look at my answers then come back here and let me know how you would answer them.

Q1. First question - Barry Switzer or Bob Stoops?

Q2. What is the greatest Oklahoma football game that you have seen - whether it be in-person or on television? Explain the game and why it was so great.

Q3. Who do you consider Oklahoma's biggest rival - Texas, Oklahoma State or Nebraska?

Q4. Since 1970, who are the five greatest players to wear an Oklahoma uniform and why?

Q5. Make your case why Oklahoma football, as a whole, is the best football program in the country?

Big thanks goes to Rick at Stiles Points for including us in his "College Football at its Best" feature.

Say what you want...
Switzer is a bad mo fo.

Q1: Barry Switzer, if we are only considering performance at OU.

"That's the same Barry Switzer who won three national titles (and a scary 83.7 percent of his games) at OU and, whether you like it or not, has more Super Bowl victories than Marty Schottenheimer, Marv Levy, Bud Grant, Dan Reeves, Andy Reid, Jeff Fisher and Lovie Smith -- combined. " -Michael Silver, SI.com

Say what you want about Switzer, but I don't like this side of Stoops, at. all. http://www.dallasnews.com/img/photo/10-05/1008stoops.jpg

Q2: As a Texas fan, I'd have to say that Boise State game was pretty entertaining. (But I don't really want to be reminded of last season for two different reasons.) Jeers aside: The 1975 Orange Bowl against Michigan (under Barry Switzer). Great. Game. And a great end to a season.

Q3: Duh. Texas. Come on, you guys just love that whole Horns down thing. ;)

Q4: I think they'll take my degree from me if I answer this question in the affirmative. So I'll abstain. m/

believe it or not, I can read and count.
EDIT:

Q4: I agree with your list. I think it is terrible what happened to Adrian Peterson, although he is a brat. I'd like to add Gayron Allen to the list, perhaps in injustifiable bias. (He went to my HS and he's pretty much one of the nicest people on the planet.)

Q5: See Q4 above. ;)

Gayron Allen
I had actually forgotten that name. He was a good player! Not one of the best ever but very solid.

Alright im all over this.
  1. Stoopsie- all the way.  Guy is one of the best in today's game no question.  I very rarely second guess the guy, and that is not the case with most.  Plus I was all of 1 when we won it all in '85.
  2.  Easy, I wanna say '96 season.  We are 0-6 going into OU-texas with John Blake at the helm, Texas is in the top 10, I believe.  Long story short- Demond Parker wins it for OU in double ot on the last play of the game.  I'm sitting with my dad in the heart of the texas section, will never forget it.  Guy behind said "I'm not leaving the stadium alive if OU wins this game, I'll kill myself!!" Hahaha man we were all over that guy.  side note: I sat at the goalline of the endzone right by The Pride, when Roy made "The Play."  I've never heard it louder in the Cotton Bowl, and all from one half.
  3. Douche ass texas.  chris simms is a pussy, you too mcCoy.
  4. This is tough.  I'm going 1) J White b/c I watched him live. 2) Gotta be Billy Sims as another Heisman winner. 3) partial to AD don't think I've ever watched a more talented player in person. 4)  ummm, how bout Tommie Harris b/c Switzer called him the greatest football player and then tempered himself with Leroy Selmon.  5)  Wait when did Selmon graduate? oh '75 alright #5 Lee Roy Selmon.  *Plus give  me THE BOZ, BABY!
  5.  First off 47 in a row in the 50's no one will beat it.  Second only to ND in national championships with 7, they've got 8.  By the way Alabama likes to say they have 13, but a good portion of those were when they only considered teams without black players.  What a joke.  Other than that I'm sick of writing, but I'll say this we're just good when were good that's for sure.  OU is one of handful of schools that have an historical advantage when recruiting prospects as historically elite football programs.  So when everything comes together here in the Sooner state,  OU is one of the toughest teams to beat in the country.

Not DeMond, it was James Allen
you know what I just watched the youtube replay on your page here, and it was James Allen that scored not Parker.  Could have sworn it was DeMond, my bad.

You're Right!
I totally overlooked that. It was Allen.
