Top 10 OU Football Moments #9 - 1988 Bedlam

The Boston Red Sox have Bill Buckner and the Oklahoma State Cowboys have Brent Parker. The 1988 Bedlam football game featured a ton of offense, combined the two teams racked up almost 1,000 yards, a controversial call, Cowboys fullback Garrett Limbrick was called for taunting a Sooner defender out of bounds, and a Heisman Trophy winner, Barry Sanders is the greatest running back of all time. Oh yeah, it also featured a dropped pass.

The 8th ranked Sooners would build a 24-14 halftime lead over #12 OSU but would see that lead fade away behind a 215 yard, two touchdown performance by Barry Sanders. However in the end it was a little Sooner Magic and Brent Parker that would preserve a 31-28 Sooner victory.

I found the video of OSU's final drive that captures it all. Hart Lee Dykes, Barry Sanders, Limbrick's potty mouth and the play that would forever make Bret Parker a Bedlam Legend.
