Big-12 Baseball RPI rankings. 3/12/07
This has been moved over from the diaries section. You can post your own diaries by regestering to become a member of the Crimson and Cream Machine. It's free and everyone else is doing it, so why not you?
After a full week of baseball the NCAA Div-I Baseball RPI rankings for the Big-12 are considerably shaken up. Despite winning 3 of 4 vs. weaker teams Texas tumbles from #11 to #31. Go figure. Texas A&M had a strong week, loosing only one game vs. defending national champs Oregon State and took the league lead by moving from #29 to #17. K-State continues to impress early and cracks the top-20. Mizzou makes a strong move up, as do the Cornhuskers despite getting the broom treatment from Alabama. Go figure again. Baylor and Texas Tech move up, Oklahoma State treads water, while KU continues to suffer.
RPI Rank - School (Div-I Wins and Losses) - Results this week.
17 Texas A&M (18-2) - lost one game vs. Oregon State, swept three vs. Florida.
20 Kansas State (14-2) - Won all five games vs. BYU (2) and North Dakota State (3)
21 Oklahoma (13-5) - Beat Creighton, 2 of 3 vs. San Diego State, lost to Michigan.
29 Missouri (13-5) - Won two vs. ULM, won single gms vs. Tx State & Dallas Baptist.
31 Texas (15-7) - Won 2 of 3 vs. Miami (OH) and single gm vs. UTAM-CC.
34 Nebraska (8-5) - Beat Stetson, swept by Alabama.
50 Baylor (11-7) - Won single gms vs. Tx State, San Francisco, lost to Miss State.
67 Oklahoma State (12-4) - beat UT-Arlington once and Pepperdine twice.
72 Texas Tech (15-7) - Split 2 w/ UNLV, beat TAM-CC and TCU, lost to Rice.
157 Kansas (9-8) - Won two vs. NAIA teams, swept by #38 Arkansas.
Again, these are very early RPI figures so they should not have too much weight put on them. Give it another few weeks before you loose any sleep over them.
